Rendered from the original Greek into modern English by scholar David H. Stern, the Jewish New Testament was first introduced to the book-selling world at the International Christian Booksellers Convention in July, 1989. The translator and commentator, Dr. Stern, is a Messianic Jew, a Jew who honors Yeshua (Jesus) as the Messiah of Israel.

How is the Jewish New Testament different from all other New Testaments? The simple answer is that the Jewish New Testament expresses the original and essential Jewishness which is inherent in the Gospel. It restores the Jewishness missing in most English translations, which present the message in a Gentile-Christian linguistic, cultural, and theological framework.
