Hand-Embroidered Matzah and Afikoman Cover - 7 Species This beautiful artwork will add a touch of color and distinction to your Seder table. Yair uses chain-stitched hand embroidery on raw cotton, using various colors of silk, as well as gold and silver threads to create a beautiful design. The matzah cover has three sections inside to separate the top and bottom matzahs from the middle matzah and is embroidered with the word “Pesach” in Hebrew in the middle. The afikoman covers are smaller to fit the afikoman and say “Afikoman” in Hebrew in the middle. The covers are decorated with a beautiful, cheerful motif of the Seven Species of the Land of Israel, over a peaceful turquoise background.
This piece comes from an art studio in Jerusalem that employs new immigrants and mentally disabled individuals. A portion of the studio’s profits is donated to charity. The artist’s principal techniques encompass painting on silk, hand embroidery, raw-silk appliqué and painting on wood.
This will be a treasured centerpiece in anyone`s Passover home!
